Mymy crew goes balkan mixtape

I have been friendly with Morrison of this Holland Crew for the last two months. He hit me up on Twitter on Saturday with news that they were dropping their Balkan inspired Mixtape on Sunday.

Mondays are always especially difficult for me to get going at work but I was looking forward to hearing the mix. I just got a chance to listen to it this morning it should definitely should be shared. Its a great blend of Balkan vocals and instruments with Electro and House currents flowing through the mix. If you are feeling adventurous on this beautiful Monday morning, check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Sometimes you come across music that floors you. Holly Miranda's album The Magicians Private Library was recommended to me last night. I loaded it up on my phone to listen to at work. The album starts with "Forest Green, Oh Forest Green." This track has a sorta Cat Power meets Beirut feel to it. I immediately looked her up on youtube and found this masterpiece above.

Where have I been? What rock have I been living under? This woman is amazing! I have only had a chance to hear the album once and I literally can't wait to hear it again. I have a feeling this one is going to get stuck on repeat.

Four Tet - There is Love in you

Four Tet's "there is love in you" is one of my favorite albums so far in 2010. Four Tet always delivers something different with each track and that is consistent with this new release. Some of his tracks are more on the IDM side and some are more beat heavy. One thing that is consistant is that the production is amazing, the tones are soothing, and the music takes you another place. Enjoy these beats and go see him if he comes near you!
