Mount Kimbie "Before I move off" (Video)
I have to give a shout out to MashKulture for posting this video today. Mount Kimbie was one of the best groups to drop an album in 2010 and am very happy to see them getting some more buzz.
This official video dropped in the middle of December and is a damn shame only 3500 peeps have watched it. The entire video is made up of still shots in strange mash of stop motion, flashes of messages, and a movement to the beat. I found it to be even better watching the second time.

Mount Kimbie - Crooks and Lovers
I downloaded Mount Kimbie's album on a whim last night. I was able to hear 30 second previews of each song but really had no idea what I was getting into. It sounded interesting but downloading an album based on that alone can be an utter disaster. Mount Kimbie is far from that. Its utter perfection.
Right now, I am stuck inside on this gorgeous day with these beautiful tunes filling my brain in total peace. Although the tracks are stripped down to minimal beats, the melody and sound is lush and dense. I love how the album takes on a soundtrack feel with each song blending and complimenting each other. I'm only 30 minutes in and I already want to start "Crooks & Lovers" over again for another listen. Well just my luck, I am on the last song and ready to try again. Peace.
