Working on a massive WMC blogpost from my time in Miami last week. Currently hooking up my youtube page with all the video I took down South. That probably won't be ready for a few more days so I leave you in the more than capable hands of Den5hion. I featured this dude on my It Came From The Cloud Volume Two and am loving the remixes he is banging out. I am a sucker for anything redone for The XX. This is one of the more interesting remixes with the latin inspired beats and accordion overlays.
I won't be back on the blog until Monday but I wanted to leave you with some tunes to at least get you though the afternoon. Fare SOldi just dropped this remix one day ago on their soundcloud page. As always, its fun and carefree. Enjoy.
It's been three months since my first compilation was posted. I am back with 16 free tracks from the best of Soundcloud. Some returning artists were too good to keep off, It Came From The Cloud Volume Two, like Punks Jump Up, Hood Internet, and Fare Solidi. The majority of the tracks on Volume Two are brand new artists for me. I am really excited for you all to explore.

Japan has been in my thoughts and prayers since I woke up Friday in horror. I couldn't believe I was watching entire towns being washed away.
I blog about music and try to keep this blog clutter free. No one cares what I ate for breakfast or the most recent "hardship" at work. Basically all of that non-sense is a bunch of bullshit when you think about real hardships, like your town or city being washed away.
When I was 13 I learned the hard way what it was like to lose everything. I rode out an 8 hour category five hurricane that left me shipwrecked and homeless on a deserted island. When we were rescued I had my family, our dog, and the clothes on my back. I was alive. I still had family and we had relatives that housed us when we returned to the states.
In Japan there are survivors that have the clothes on their back. Whole families have been washed to sea and their relatives homes went with them. In retrospect, I was very lucky. I can't imagine the pain an entire country is dealing with in the days since the waves.
I found the RZA on Soundcloud just a few minutes ago before I started writing this blog post. He released a Tsunami inspired track two hours ago. It beautiful and reflective. It also allows me a music forum to express my prayers for the Japanese. God bless the thousands that perished last week.
SBA favorite Jayou has got some ridiculous new music that you got to hear. The beats are hot and the bass is low. Hustlin' has been remixed 1000x but I have never heard it like this...
I almost hate posting this track because I really don't want to show all my cards. I am working on the second volume of "It Came From the Cloud: A SmithBlogsAtlanta Compilation" and I am fairly certain that this track is going to make the final cut. It's to0 great to keep it to myself for another week while I work on the compilation. For now enjoy and maybe you will see this track very shortly in compilation form too!
Kiev was described to me as, "If Radiohead was from Orange County and a Jam Band..." That is actually a very accurate of the quintet's music and vibe. These five have been playing together for years but finally have made their mark with the release of the EP, "Ain't No Scary Folks In On Around Here." It randomly got into my hands and I am not letting go of this one. I linked to a free download of their track "Crooked Strings" if you want to check them out. In the mean time enjoy them live...
It's Hip Hop, it's Electronic, it's Dubstep, it's Tribal, it's EPIC. Totally caught me off guard from the minute it started. I am really impressed with the ease Nick CatchDubs jumps from genera to genera. The tracklist looks incredibly manic at first glance but as each track unveils itself, it makes total sense. I haven't been this excited about a mixtape in a while. So sit back, enjoy, and turn it up!

I knew it was a matter of time before a good Charlie Sheen remix was made. This one happens to be done to one of my favorite tracks, Duck Sauce's "Barbara Streisand". Enjoy the madness...
I have had two weeks to fully digest the new Lykke Li album. Yes, it is an entirely different sound. The seemingly young and innocent Li grew up with her newest album "Wounded Rhymes". Even her singing style transformed from her girlish whisper into a strong female lead voice.
The content is more mature and the sound is BIG and polished. At times she almost sounds like she has been transported into a Pains of Being Pure at Heart meets Peter Bjorn and John recording session. There is a soft velvet fog over the entire album. Its lush and over the top. Its perfect. Fans of hers might scratch their head after watching "Get Some" but give the album a chance. She will win you over again.
