Miami Horror & Touch Bass

Sometimes from Miami Horror on Vimeo.

Sometimes discovery starts with a single track. Yesterday I stumbled upon this amazing track "sometimes" from Austria's Miami Horror. I immediately got goose bumps all over. 99% of the time I hear the bass line first and this one grabbed me. Add in soothing vocals over ethereal guitars and you have hell of a hit.

My next move was to search Soundcloud to see if Miami Horror had more tracks. The first result was dj set by Touch Bass. Way down on his set list was a Miami Horror track "Moon Theory." I had no expectations when I started his set but I think I finally found my summer jam. This hour long set is jam packed with "Summer Essentials like Delorean, Gossip, Riva Starr, Michael Jackson, Duck Sauce, Miami Horror, Treasure Fingers, AND Calvin Harris... Dude brings it. Listen to it here on SBA and give it a download for that summer trip. Also send him some love on Facebook if you dig the mix...

Rusko "Hold on" Feat Amber Coffman

I am so glad that Mad Decent Released this single off Rusko's new album OMG. Its a new wave of Dubstep in my opinion. Purist that like the slow grime will probably not like the sound. But wussies like me will find "Hold On" to be a breath of fresh air. I think that it will have an enormous cross over appeal and I would be surprised if it caught onto the mainstream in the near future. Enjoy it in the hear and now...

Kick - OH "Bring the Fury"

Kick-OH The Fury Mixtape June 2010 by KickOH

The last time Kick-OH showed up on SBA it was a post about a deep, tribal, house mix. Two weeks ago that same DJ released a mix that will make even hard-core electro fans step back and say, "DAMN!". I couldn't believe this was the same DJ...

Just two tracks in he sets the tone with a massive Rage Against the Machine Electro Remix and he keeps the tracks hard and gritty throughout. This mix is absolutely ruthless. At times this mix made me cringe. At times I couldn't help but have a ridiculous smile on my face. At times I had both. Keep this one in the ipod for those special moments in life when you just need to release some fury.

Benga - Baltimore Clap

I fell in love with Benga with his first splash into the electronic music scene. When he release "Diary of an Afro Warrior", I didn't even know what Dub Step was but I did know I was digging this type of music. Fast forward a year and I can't go a day without hearing Dubstep. Just last week I heard that Britney Spears was working on a Dubstep inspired track for her new album... now that's funny.

Last week I downloaded Phase One EP which features the DubStep monster called Baltimore Clap. At first I really wasn't digging the track but after watching the video I have a new found love for it. Enjoy the genius of Benga...

Calvertron just rattled my bumper off...

CALVERTRON TROUBLE & BASS MIX by calvertron

Please be careful with this mix. Don't play while driving through residential areas. Be very careful if you have neighbors and you want to rock it after 10pm. It's called Trouble and Bass for a reason. Until this morning I have never heard of Calvertron so I am excited find more. Found out last night that Calvertron will be playing in East Atlanta June 12 (Saturday) so go check him out. Since this mix is only thirteen days, chances are you heard it first here on SBA. Enjoy...

Emily Jane White - LaBlogoTheque

The last couple of weeks each post has been only electronic music. Today I am going tone it down a notch. Emily Jane White first hit SBA in our first year of posts. She released her new album in the states "Victorian America" in March of 2010. Just watching this video has convinced me to go home and buy it even though I don't have the finances to justify it. The first album was absolutely brilliant. The new joint seems to be following suit.

I can't finish this post without mentioning the incredible LaBoloTheque who make incredible live public videos time after time. Give them a search for your favorite indie artist. Chances are you will find them.
